NVIDIA was founded in 1993 by Jensen Huang, Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem in Santa Clara, California as a graphics company and has since become a leader in gaming, AI and accelerated computing.
Early Computer Graphics
In 1999 NVIDIA introduced the GeForce 256, the world’s first GPU, and real-time 3D graphics and professional visual applications were never the same.
Expansion into Accelerated Computing and AI
When we realized GPUs could do more than graphics, we developed the CUDA platform and enabled GPUs to do parallel processing. This led to breakthroughs in scientific research, deep learning and AI and put NVIDIA at the forefront of AI hardware and software.
Leadership and Vision
Under Jensen’s leadership NVIDIA has always been ahead of the curve, innovating to navigate transitions and stay competitive.
